Synonyms
arsenite transporting ATPase activity, arsenical pump-driving ATPase activity, arsenical resistance ATPase activity, arsenical resistance efflux pump, arsenite-translocating ATPase activity, arsenite-transmembrane transporting ATPase activity, arsenite-transporting ATPase activity, arsenite ABC transporter
Alternate IDs
None
Definition
Enables the transfer of a solute or solutes from one side of a membrane to the other according to the reaction: ATP + H2O + arsenite(in) = ADP + phosphate + arsenite(out). Source: RHEA:11348, PMID:10970874
Comment
EC:7.3.2.7 states that this bacterial transporter does not belong to the ABC superfamily, and instead is a member of its own family, referred to as the Ars family. Like ABC transporters, it contains two nucleotide binding sites (PMID:10970874).
